David Bowes - galerie piece unique

David Bowes

David Bowes paints intellectual fantasies that take root in the figurative pictorial tradition without using however the inverted commas of the quotation.
It is although opportune to consider the fantastic as a simple place and, at the same time, a « depraved » and necessary form of the logical thought with which the artist operates casual symbolic and enigmatic – sometimes insignificant – exchanges with the figures of reality. Without losing himself in the exhuberance, Bowes uses his modern combinative lamp in which, probably ( the ambiguity of the fantastic is limited by doubt ) this, not legitimated by the rational order, elsewhere – made of memories, « linguistic games » and mental associations – is cast.
